War in Ukraine
Despite repressions and mass surveillance, Belarusians protest against the war in Ukraine. More than 1,500 people have been arrested or prosecuted for anti-war protests. Still, Belarusians perform underground sabotage and determined resistance, including railway disruptions, economic resistance, and hacktivism. Many Belarusians in Ukraine have joined territorial defense forces and stayed to work or volunteer, helping those affected by the war. Belarusians all over the world donate funds and equipment to help Ukraine. Thousands of them help refugees and invite them to live in their homes. The Belarusian diaspora actively participates in anti-war rallies across continents.
