Minsk resident sentenced to 12 days of detention for child’s drawing on window
Dzmitry Bubenka was detained on 9 August for “unauthorized picketing by placing a white sheet of paper on the window,” the Viasna Human Rights Center reports.
Bubenka explained in court that he had fixed the child’s drawings on the window almost four years ago. According to Dzmitry, these sheets of paper protected his wife’s seedlings from sun damage. The judge asked why he had not obtained permission from the local authorities for this.
As a result, Dzmitry Bubenka was found guilty of violating the procedure for organizing or holding mass events (Article 24.23 of the Administrative Code) and sentenced to 12 days of detention.
