Belarusian business association holds large Christmas event
On December 21, a big Christmas meeting of Belarusians abroad took place in Warsaw. For the first time, several Belarusian initiatives met at the platform organized by the Association of Belarusian Business Abroad (ABBA): the BYSOL Solidarity Fund, the Belarusian Council of Culture, the Creator’s House and the Association of Belarusians in America (ABA).
During the meeting, the initiatives united to take part in the BYSOL campaign “Let’s give children a miracle!”, dedicated to raising funds for Christmas gifts for children of political prisoners. A charity auction was also held as part of the campaign. Many artists have participated in the auction. putting their works up for sale. Among the lots were works by famous Belarusian artists:
● Vladimir Tsesler’s poster “The right course…” signed by the author;
● Painting “Sign of Pain” by Cemra;
● The work “Morning in the Forest” by the artist Alexander Belsky, whose paintings are also in the collection of Viktar Babaryka;
● The painting “The January Bullfinch” from the series “Birds with the People” by Anton Rodionov.
In total, more than twenty lots were offered at the auction, with the total amount from the sale amounting to about 4,000 euros. The event participants contributed donations totaling more than 2,000 euros. Part of the funds will be directed to repressed cultural figures, but the bulk will go to support the families of political prisoners.
The big Christmas meeting has been further confirmation that the representatives of the Belarusian diaspora are joining forces even in difficult circumstances and actively supporting those who need help the most today. Belarusian business abroad remains socially responsible and cares not only about its own development, but also about those who need help today.
