Human Rights Center Viasna
The Human Rights Center Viasna is the biggest organization in Belarus dealing with the human rights protection. Due to ongoing repressions in Belarus and after the detention of the organization’s leaders in the summer 2021 – Ales Bialiatski, Valiantsin Stefanovich, Uladzimir Labkovich – most of the team has been forced to work from abroad. At the same time, the Viasna human rights activists managed to maintain the effectiveness of their work and continue to provide assistance to people. The website spring96.org publishes unique materials about the repressions taking place in Belarus every day. The stories of political prisoners and repressed persons, evidence of torture in isolation cells and prisons, recorded by Viasna, become irrefutable evidence of the crimes of the Belarusian regime.
